Tamanna Patel, BSEd, MPH, provides technical assistance to ORHP Rural Health Outreach grantees that work to improve their healthcare systems to meet the community’s need for better healthcare access and overall improved health outcomes. Since joining the Georgia Health Policy Center’s (GHPC) Community Health Systems Development Team in 2009, Tamanna has worked with 12 ORHP grantee communities in rural settings. She has worked with grantee programs focused on diabetes and wellness and prevention. Tamanna links resources, information, and expertise essential for programs to bring health services to underserved populations. Prior to joining GHPC, Tamanna worked for Louisiana Public Health Institute on tobacco control and prevention programs, specifically a youth empowerment program and a perinatal provider training program. She provided technical assistance and coordinated the programs to rural and urban communities throughout Louisiana for both programs. In addition, she has gained experience in adolescent health, reproductive health, and maternal and child health in Atlanta, New York City, and Louisiana.
